Paragon Surfboards Gives Back
Every Day is a Good Day… Paragon Surfboards was glad to donate a Paragon Classic Woody Noserider to the Duane Clinkscales Memorial Foundation Golf Classic, at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club.
Duane Cinkscales was born with Cystic Fibrosis. He knew as a child that he would not live a long life. A person diagnosed today with CF is unlikely to reach the age of 40. When Dunae was diagnosed, the average life expectancy was 10 years. Dunae lived to be 44.
Even with the knowledge that his life would be short, Duane knew how to live. You may have heard the story of how he and a friend were driving you to a hospital where a mutual friend had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. On the drive up, Duane was asked if he wished his life could have been different, a life without CF. His answer was, ‘No’. “I have to be aware 24 hours a day that I have CF to stay alive, but I live every hour o every day like I don’t have CF.”
Duane was always willing to tell his story. He didn’t overwhelm you with his circumstances; in fact, many did not even know of his battle with CF. He didn’t hesitate to share his challenges and encourage everyone to live life to the fullest.
Duane’s philosophy was captured in his signature phrase: “Every day is a good day!” The literal meaning for an adult with CF is clear. Every day that I’m still alive is a good day. Duane didn’t intend for these words to be focused on his condition. Instead, his message was that every day we have together is special. We should be kind to each other. We should be thankful for what we have, and we should be excited about what each day will bring.

Paragon Surfboards: South Side Seal Beach
South side Seal Beach is a very fickle wave. Many factors have to come together to get it good. Below are some pictures of some really fun days.

Paragon Surfboards: Long Beach Surf
Growing up on the peninsula gave me an opportunity to constantly check the Long Beach surf. If there was anything rideable, I was on it, however those days were extremely rare. Here are a couple pictures of the better days over the past 20 years. SINK THE BREAKWATER!
Paragon Mini Log
Longboards can be great, their length, width, and thickness make them easy to paddle and catch waves as well as get up on. However anyone who has owned a longboard knows what a pain in the ass they can be. All that foam and fiberglass make them heavy and hard to carry. Just getting your longboard to the beach means you need to have surf racks because they won’t fit in your car. Since the average ceiling is 8’0” tall, any longboard bigger than that can be extremely difficult to store.
The truth is you can get all the benefits of a longboard by riding a smaller version or Mini-Log. Our Mini-Log is still thick and wide, making it easy to catch waves and stand up on.
The Paragon Mini-Log is perfect for someone learning to surf or for a seasoned pro who wants to step down from a bulky traditional longboard.

Paragon Weed Wacker
You are ready to rip, but you feel that your shortboard is holding you back. You want a board that is going to hold its rail in over head conditions, but also cut through the weeds when the waves are small. The outline is similar to a traditional shortboard, but the nose and tail width are kicked out a hair. This board utilizes a low entry rocker, allowing you to get into waves earlier and your speed down the line. By far our most popular design! Ride 2”-4” shorter than your normal shortboard.
