While it’s still possible to get a hand-shaped surfboard, the truth is, the majority of today’s top shapers utilize digital shaping systems because of the accuracy, consistency, and flexibility that they provide.
At Paragon Surfboards, we have embraced the future of surfboard design through our digital shaping system. Our templates are designed, cut, and shaped by hand. Once perfected, our templates are input into our digital shaping system. At this point in the process, we use computer aided design (CAD) software which provides us the flexibility to alter a variety of factors (e.g. outline, dimensions, rocker, concave, fin placement, etc.) in order to meet our customer’s individual preferences.
Through this process we are able to replicate our templates, resulting in a perfect board each and every time. Anyone who has ordered a custom board knows how challenging it can be to get the exact board that you want. With our digital shaping system, we can ensure that you receive the magic shape that you’ve been looking for.
