  • Where are Paragon Surfboards shaped?
All of our templates are hand-shaped in Southern California.  Once perfected, we input our templates into our digital shaping system which is done abroad.
  •  Are the boards hand shaped, how are they made?
Our templates are designed, cut, and shaped by hand.  Once perfected, our templates are input into our digital shaping system which enables us to produce an exact replica each and every time.  Our boards are then finished by hand.
  • What are the advantages of using a digital shaping system?
By using a digital shaping system, we are able to replicate our templates, resulting in a perfect board each and every time.  Many of today’s top shapers utilize digital shaping systems because of the accuracy, consistency, and flexibility that they provide.  For a more detailed explanation of our digital shaping system, click here.
  • Where is Paragon Surfboards located?

  • Why are Paragon Surfboards so affordable?
In addition to improving accuracy and consistency, our digital shaping system eliminates many of the costs involved in surfboard production.  Additionally, we keep our costs and prices low by minimizing our marketing activities.  As a result, we offer high quality shapes at 40%-60% less than you’d pay at your local surf shop.
  • What type of blanks do you use?
For our polyurethane boards, we use Excell blanks which are premium blanks characterized by a uniform density foam. For our epoxy boards, we use a proprietary high-density expanded polystyrene foam core (EPS).
  • What type of resin do you use?
For our polyurethane boards, we use a high grade/UV resistant resin from Silmar Company.  For our epoxy boards, we use a high strength/lightweight resin from Resin Research Company.
  • How many layers of glass do you use on your boards?
  1. Shortboards – Double 4oz on top, single 4oz on bottom
  2. Fish – 6/4oz on top, 4 oz on bottom
  3. Longboards – Double 6oz on top, single 6oz on bottom
  • What type of fin options do you offer?
  1. FUTURE
  2. FCS
  3. Super Fins
  • Do you offer glass-on fins?  No
  •  What are the differences between the two epoxy options (ParaPoxy, ParaLite) that     you offer?
Our ParaPoxy epoxy is a high-end material that looks and feels like a traditional polyurethane surfboard.  It has the flex characteristics of a polyurethane board; however, it’s four times stronger.  This is an ideal option for the person that likes the feel of traditional polyurethane boards, but wants added strength and durability.
Our ParaLite epoxy combines a high-density expanded polystyrene foam core (EPS) with epoxy resin, rendering a board that is both lighter and stronger than a traditional polyurethane surfboard.  Compared to our ParaPoxy material, this option is slightly stiffer and more ding resistant.  This is an ideal option for the person that wants a quality board that won’t break down quickly over time.
  • How much do your boards cost?
Our board prices depend on a variety of factors including size, material (PU/Epoxy), fin set-up,   color, etc.  To view our board prices, click here.
  • Do you do custom boards?
Yes.  The turnaround time is around 10 weeks and we require a 50% cash down payment.  To order a custom board, click here.
  • Do you ship boards out of state/ internationally?
        Not at this time.
  • What is your return policy?
Paragon Surfboards is dedicated to creating unique shapes that allow you to surf your best, regardless of the conditions.  Due to the unpredictable variables associated with the act of surfing, we can not guarantee against damage and can not warranty once the board is used.  Ordinary wear and tear is not covered by any warranty.  Because our goal is to keep you in the water, returns will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
